The key, is to smooth the road as much as possible, keep it on the product teams agenda, and when the opportunity to do it arises be ready and waiting to support and guide them through that integration. That’s where the “care” part is vital. You do things in such a way that this is as painless and quick as possible, and when the need arises to do it again, the friction should be lower.
