How to make a shadow gradient in Sketch

Frist things first, this method is already used by a lot of designers in the world and it’s not a new feature.

Before we start to learn how to make a gradient shadow in Sketch, let me tell you that there are many ways to do it. I will show you once & maybe the simplest one. So, let’s do it !

First thing you have to do is import your image or do a design of what you want.

Here I choosed to use an image from the designer Baugasm.

Now you imported your image or your design we will duplicate the layer and lock the one above.

Rigth clic on your first layer and click on “Lock layer”

Once you locked your first layer clic on the copy one (shadow on my screen) & resite it in smaller, move it down and apply a Gaussian Blur to 25px

Here we can already see the shadow gradient effet

And that’s it. If you want your design better render just play with the opacity on this layer.

At the end of the day there are many ways to do something similar but I found this one the simplest.
