‘We leave no one behind’ part 2
A wise man once said that it doesn’t matter how many times you fall, but how quickly you get back up.That’s what I do more often when it seems all is not on the right track…getting back in the game. The first and second day of off premise Andela boot camp was quite interesting. The tasks we were supposed to accomplish were challenging and at the same time mind-opening. I must say we racked our brains trying to accomplish assignments within deadlines while seeking help from one another in the slack group. The tasks included three Andela Lab exercises, a function to implement word count, a function to implement maximum and minimum number and a real life Object Oriented Programming implementation.Whoever said that there is magic in teamwork was never wrong. Through collaboration within our team, we were able to accomplish the tasks at a fast pace, something we thought we were not capable of.
On day two of the Boot camp, I was stuck on a task about implementing a command line application that consumes a public API using a HTTPS client library. A friend of mine, a team member, came to the rescue. He posted a link to a site that simply explained the concept of APIs in python. I was surprised how easy it was. Had I not sought help I wouldn’t have attempted the task at all. As I write this, it’s all well and and good and almost done with the API before deadline. So far we are almost done with day two tasks. I’m already eager to tackle what the following day has.
