HOW I INCREASED MY KPI by 10%.
Hi, my name is George. And you? I'm Judy...as in J-U-D-Y, spelt his name correctly. With a nod. And a smile on his face, he aknowledged my wits.
This was a conversation I'd, with one of our new staff. He'll be working with us, as a #Graduate Trainee in the #production floor. He's new and naive. Obviously, nervous and trying to find his footing, in the new #work environment. It's normal, because we were once "newbies" as well. I understand his "vulnerabilities". And I'm willing to share it with Judy.
#ASSISTANCE and #ACCEPTANCE will make him to integrate fast into the new #workplace easily. And someone has to take the lead. Induct him. Be his Tour guide. And ultimately be his friend.
LESSONS LEARNT:
~ Learn to be, quick to offer assistance to new member of your #team/staff. Add this title to your name " THE SOCIAL INTEGRATOR" you just have a way to make people feel at home!
~ Assign them tasks or encourage them to work with you/team on an on-going task.
~ Introduce them to colleagues who will be of immediate help to them. This makes integration of the new staff easily. Thereby, reducing the initial "artificial tension" of bringing a total "stranger" to stay. And work with friends cum associates who has been together for a long time.
