At The UN Climate Summit

A Poem

Aug 21 · 2 min read

At the UN Climate Summit

the croissants were baked using oil-generated electricity

transported in a dirty baker’s van

placed in a big plate at the centre of attention

and left alone to cool off in an overheating world.

You took a cab from your hotel room,

wishing you would get there before the croissants went extinct

wishing they would last longer than the Amazon

The Summit’s motto was “A Race we can Win”

and you won

the race to the croissants
