True talent doesn’t care about snacks.
This is hard to justify and highly subjective. Yes, the valley is in a talent arms race ruled by free lunches and monthly Uber stipends, but for some people I’d imagine having these perks could lead to a more sustainable and manageable life — especially if aspirations are more personally motivated than financially.
An insightful write-up Arjun. I think you’re right to balance the physical and the digital in ways that many people still don’t quite fully grasp. Incorporating a human-feel to meetings with a notepad can be an incredibly memorable experience — having had impactful meetings myself where I can physically sketch out workflows and processes that help people understand new concepts of different POVs.
I agree that Beme may need a single-screen tutorial for those who have no prior exposure to its authenticity, but I don’t think your improvements are really improvements.
It’s a no-frills social network that works on minimal/no-UI. Adding UI elements undermines its original intention and makes it no different than other video-based networks out there.
