George Gallego Founder of Wheels of Progress

Wheels of Progress — the non-profit organization dedicated to creating supportive housing and transformative experiences for young people with disabilities unnecessarily housed in senior nursing facilities. Meet George Gallego, a man on a mission to help the thousands of disabled people who are stuck in nursing homes unable to go home due to in accessibility. A freak accident at the age of 23 ended George’s carefree lifestyle of playing ball, skiing, swimming and camping. The former circulation manager of a major newspaper fell the equivalent of three stories after stumbling through a railing at a Manhattan warehouse.

The MRT was made by Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2011 to make proposals to decrease costs and assemble quality and viability in New York’s Medicaid Program. He has lived with a spinal string damage following 1992. Following quite a while of understanding his incapacity, he proceeded onward to go to and deal with a flight school on Long Island.

George Gallego is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Wheels of Progress. For the past 4 years he has been a world-class athlete competing in triathlons around the world. He moved on to attend and manage a flight school on Long Island. His Master’s degree is in Organizational Leadership and his undergraduate degree is in Organizational Management.
