Co-Creating a Constitution for All of The Living

1)The significance of a life is not about its size or its power. None are authorized to think they are in charge or able to measure which life forms are worthy of being here and which are not — not even in the self-acclaimed role as “stewards” of the earth. All of The Living should be allowed to be free. Those who think they can take away the lives or the freedoms of more than are needed for food or for protection should be peacefully opposed in all possible ways.

2)All humans should be allowed to vote on decisions affecting the whole planet. Such changes should not be left in the hands of single countries or industries any more. This could happen through the development of a Global Commons through which all have a chance to communicate, to learn, to debate, and to vote.

This would not be a global government which can decide what is to be voted on. There might be locally chosen representatives of the Global Commons, but no hierarchy other than a consensus of an agreed-upon ‘majority’ should be consented to. (The nations will see to this.) Only We, the People can propose something to vote on when an agreed percentage of voters from both hemispheres put it forward. Every country will be asked to follow decisions of the Global Commons of We, the People or those countries would be exiled from specified aspects of global association (as North Korea is, though not much longer).

3)All humans both young and old must be provided access to the full Educational Commons of the Global Commons. This essential learning tool would include up-to-date information in every language on each of the basic Elective Abilities, their Skill-types, and their associated arts and sciences. This information would be separated into more elementary and more advanced levels. Local mentors would be encouraged too volunteer their services in every locality, as well as online (with agreed-upon guidelines for approving mentors). Compulsive general educational requirements and tests would be discouraged. The free development of new educational processes would be encouraged, yet existing institutions would not be interfered with except by vote of local, regional, or international ‘ Chapters’ of the Global Commons. When it’s necessary to have requirements for someone to be approved to practice a specific skill - as with physicians, lawyers, therapists, and many more - those would be influenced and coordinated by regional and global Skill-types of the Educational Commons working in cooperation with national, regional and local governing bodies, as ‘they’ mostly already are under different names.

For the potentials of such an agreeable Constitution, and with a firm reliance on the natural concept of successful coexistence, can we agreeably devote our lives, our fortune, and our honor to an ongoing biosphere for this beloved planet?
