Take Back Control and Make Me Great Again
Kevin Cheng

Neal Stephenson’s new book Seveneves shows this aspect of human collaboration in the political parts of the book. There is an engineer (logical appeals) vs. politician (emotional appeals) conflict. The emotional appeal gains traction by appealing to identity or dignity. But I don’t know how respectful that is when it’s in the service of someone elses agenda. I question how much value the human race gets from emotionally convincing people of climate change vs. addressing it with direct forceful action. Seveneves has got me wondering a lot about this.
