This is one of the saddest pieces of writing i have had the opportunity to read. It breaks my heart that men feel this way. It breaks my heart that anyone feels this way; alone, incomplete, broken, and in despair.

I understand because at times i have felt the same way. There have been long nights that i would have much prefered to put on a cape and a mask and taken out my anger and despair on villians than to lie in my bed alone.

The good news is that things do get better. That sadness leaves, that broken things eventually are fixed, and that despair is eventually transformed into hope.

But we can isolate ourselves for extended periods hoping to magically be healed. We must focus on others. This is the only cure of which i know.

The more we think of ourselves, the more we will feel this type of loneliness. However, if we are thinking of other people, we lose the ability to think of our own problems. By focusing on other people, we in turn, become happy.

Superheroes spend nights out fighting crime, and it is not just to take out anger and punch people; it is in some attempt to help other people. To protect. To defend.

May we do the same.

May we forget ourselves in the midst of our problems.

May we find someone who has it worse than we do.

May we have the courage to look up, to look outward.

This is the cure to our loneliness.
