Very simple. With all the stress packed into our lives, it’s easy to forget ourselves and our needs, and to work ourselves dry. Thank you for reminding me that we need to take time for #1, work less, vacation more, commute less, spend more time off-line, meditate, adventure in the great outdoors, and to smile. These are all such extremely simple things, but in the long run they will have a big impact.
Personally, i’m going to focus on spending more time outdoors, meditating, and smiling. One of my favorite things to do in the past is hiking. I love nature. I love being secluded from the world, feeling like i’m all alone for a time. I want to get in to paragliding. I think that’s a great way to spend time outdoors, to relieve stress, and to enjoy yourself. That is one way that i personally will manage my stress.
As for meditating, i need to take more time to think less. All of the time, our minds go 100 miles per hour, thinking of both what we have done, what we are currently doing, and what we are going to do later. We all need time to stop thinking entirely, to just be still, relax, and let all that inner stress go.
Smiling is one of my favorite things to do. As was said, even forced smiles can go a long way to relieve stress. If we smile more, we age less. If we smile more, we are happier, and if we smile more, we make the world a happier place. Smiling should be a focus.
