But what about fiction writers? Listicles don’t work for short stories. A click-bait headline doesn’t always capture the essence of the story (The Lord of the Rings vs. “You Won’t Believe How This One Hobbit Defeated A Dark Lord!”; or even, “Unexpected Morning Routine of a Successful Hobbit”). I know attention spans are limited and valuable, and I’m not against these techniques. I just don’t know how fiction writers can get more traffic.

Is fiction blogging doomed to fail? Should story writers stick to writing books instead?
