A controversial person in the histories of Transvestite - Cross Dresser - Transsexual - later Transgender, "She" pushed the ideas of the str8 male TV/CD to keep them separate from the TS, After all TSs could/would go on with HRT and surgeries thus blurring the whole idea of str8 or gay,

I can remember some of the "Tri-Ess" mixers, They were a different mix of people as you said, Few of the TVs/CDs would ever go out in public, But they were helpful in meeting others with similar ideas,

Most of the ones that were TS wouldn't stay around long, After all once we could find public places why stay around in motel rooms for mixers,

So yes, Many (there wasn't really many) of us from the Dark Ages did not go public, There really wasn't places for us as we wanted to just live our lives, Never knowing if/when the people or jobs around us would turn on us,

After all once you become "Public" you no longer have a "Private" life,
