Basic Hair Care Tips
Taking care of your hair is as important as taking care of your skin. This may sound strange, but simple hair care is completely necessary if you want to have long, shiny, gorgeous hair. You don’t need to spend hours a day caring for your hair, just follow these few steps and before you realise your hair will be looking amazing!
Basic hair care is simply treating, combing, washing and trimming your hair. In this blog post, I will be discussing all of these points giving tips and tricks on how to achieve amazing healthy hair.

Tip 1: Easy home treatment for your hair.

This is the first, easiest and one of the most important tips of them all! If you want healthy hair but don’t have time for all the salon trips. Then oil is the thing for you! My favourite oil isn’t the ridiculously priced salon bought products, but it is actually the basic and cheap coconut oil that you can purchase in any regular store. I absolutely love it! There are so many easy ways of using it as a treatment for your hair. The first and most effortless way of using coconut oil in your hair is to simply apply it through your mid lengths and ends, two hours before showering. This will nourish and condition your hair but also stop it from looking greasy. If you have naturally curly hair then you will probably find that you won’t need to wash it out, your hair will soak it up a lot more than naturally straight hair.
Another amazing way of using coconut oil is to actually mix some in with your conditioner or mask. This will create an amazing treatment for you to use at home! You can do this once or twice a week, ultimately you will see the shine and life come back into your hair!
Tip 2: Combing your hair.
The best way to comb your hair is from the ends working your way up gradually, this will remove knots but also prevent breakage. The ideal time to comb your hair is when its dry, this is because your hair is at its most vulnerable state when it’s wet. Therefore either leave it to dry and brush it, or whilst your conditioner/ treatment is in use a wide tooth comb and very gently brush through your hair. Remember NEVER pull the tangles!
Tip 3. Washing the hair.
Never over wash your hair. Try not to wash your hair more than three times a week. Naturally, your hair is always creating its own oils, constantly washing your hair is going to remove these natural oils. This will leave your hair dry, lifeless and just looking dull. I know we all love a hot shower but actually this is not good for your hair at all! Try shower with warm water and finishing with a cold rinse. This will close your hairs cuticle and leave it feeling smooth and shiny.
Tip 4. Regular haircuts.
Finally and most importantly getting regular cuts on your hair. You don’t need to be scared of getting your hair cut regularly, if you find a hairdresser that you like and trust then you should enjoy the pampering! I’m not saying to go and get 10 inches cut off your hair! What I mean is a little trim can make all the difference. This is so important because once your hair is split there is no saving it. Regular trims are very important, we normally say every 6–8 weeks but if you need to leave it 12 that’s fine! Just make sure you do get the ends trimmed.
So to achieve shiny, gorgeous, healthy hair all you need to do is run oil through your ends and possibly in your conditioner for that extra softness, be gentle when you comb your hair, don’t over wash and get regular trims. It doesn’t sound too hard!
