Yesterday, 13th of December a number of students of Ad and Pr Lab, had the chance to get to see from really close the future of Advertising and Communication. More specifically, we had the chance to watch the Interactive Marketing Conference 2018 and not only did we watch it, but some of us took part in it too!

You may now consider, how students took part in a conference like that. Well, #Imc18gr organized a University challenge and we had the great pleasure to give some of our time to work for this project and get ready on time for the big presentation. We worked hard, we had meetings, and a lot of fun!

Except for the university challenge, Imc had organized some very interesting speeches with speakers some of the best professionals in the world market.

Technology may change fast, times and customer behavior may challenge, but communication itself does not change. People always tend to say that technology takes away more opportunities than gives and that’s because they believe that in near future everything will be automated. That fear isn’t absolutely wrong, but technology has always been there, from typography to digital era. Everything in the near future, indeed, will be automated, but always had been on human hands. Technology will create hundreds of jobs that we can’t even get a title on. People just need to adapt to the new challenging technology and market in order to survive and succeed.

Storytelling, also, has always been and will be the most powerful tool humans have. Marketing, advertising and communication has understand that and that’s why storytelling is the key to every value proposition. It’s the key to persuade Millennials to be our loyal customers. Also, as we already know as an insight Millennials prefer experiences over goods. This is another key point that brands already take advantage of. You have to know your customers’ brand experience. Improving as much as possible that experience and you build a strong base of loyalty between the brand and today’s customer.

These are some of the key points that we had the pleasure to listen to and think about later on. Imc 2018 may ended for this year, we, also,may not be the winner of the University challenge, but we do get this amazing experience to remember!
