I have always felt so out of place. Before FB I was on a couple of boards where for the first time in my life I found people that thought like me and one a pagan board where I found many answers to questions about my beliefs which explained so much although even there I was kind of an odd man out
My daughter into me to Facebook and yes it has changed my life. I’m an introvert and have Aspergers so it has never been easy for me to make friends. On top of that I have lived as much of my life as possible in more rural or even remote areas. I often dream of being even more remote than I am now
FB does several things for me. I have maybe a dozen friends from the first board I was on as friends on FB. After twenty years they are more like family and there are perhaps a dozen from the pagan site that are also like family. It has been wonderful talking to people that share my interests and beliefs
Because of my lifestyle and personality issues I do not get out and socialize but I have many neighbors and friends from our local area. FB helps my daughter and I keep track of how people are doing and what’s going on in our area. I also have more then a few friends that are actually family members and we keep track of each other through FB. Marriages, births, deaths and illnesses are there along with photos
When I broke my back all my friends knew as soon as they went online and an old friend from the time we lived in the greater Spokane area just happened to be in Seattle and she came to see me
Facebook has been a great gift and the friends and connections have made me a much happier and peaceful person
