Ah, yes in that I agree. I don’t really believe in a “God” in traditional sense but this essay was also written a bit tongue in cheek to a good friend if mine who is a church pastor.
An inside joke about his church is, “huh, this is a pretty good church.” He has incredible humility and I tell him, with the exception of his faith in God, I aspire to be as good a person as he. ;) He is genuine as they get; he’s out in the rain, snow, sleet and rain literally feeding the hungry … big truck, lots of food bundles, some prayer of you need it, hugs and comfort are limitless…. there is a lot of need in pockets of America you would never guess….
Anyway, “down” as a direction only, not derision. I reached for the funny! God has already forgiven me…. just still gotta do penance though. Is saying four Hail Marys while wearing an orange vest with DOC on the back while holding a poky stick and a black garbage bag sufficient to avoid the eternal fires of hell? ;)
