I once wrote somewhere at some time, as a character of myself, “My memoir should have been written when I was a young man so I could still believe the lies I told others about who am I.”

This reply is probably a lie, written by a liar who assumed another’s identity to write it. But I read it back to my real self and he quietly approved without uttering a word.
