I think of this every time the New York Times comes out to Ohio to find some rube they can profile for yet one more Rust Belt white working class story to illustrate one point or other, but mostly to show how empathic they are about the flyover part of the country so they can point to them and say, “uh uh! Ohio!”

Yeah. They see empathy; we see patronizing. We know what they doing.
