Oh, you mean the $750 ambulance ride to the hospital?

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing but: I’m male, I’m a Boomer and I just didn’t want to get ripped to shreds based on that criteria alone, which Holly has a tendency to do. I don’t know why, but she just does. I can’t even agree with her on something without being mocked.

The one thing you learn to scream if you are conscious is, “PLEASE DO NOT CALL 911!” People reflexively call 911 on emergencies and the next thing you know it you got a bill for $4000+ from a dozen different companies and agencies INCLUDING the fire department! And they do not care; they will collect as viciously as a buy-here-pay-here car dealer.

I get the analogy, but it really doesn’t square with what happens in real life, after the drama. There is a slow burn of asset extraction for years following a fire or accident that nobody feels except the victim. So if my house burns, in America, I hope I’m inside it and burn with it. The pain of being burned alive is far less than the hellish financial destruction that follows.

This is the real America. This is the real small government.
