The rage is almost never about the actual failure of the company. It is the deep knowledge that no matter how polite, how friendly, how informed, how detailed you present your case, you are entirely helpless and nobody except you, cares or will care.
It is a frustration knowing nobody has enough time, mental or physical capacity to write letters, track interactions, wait on hold, explain the issue to the eighth person they transferred you to… and that is after you have figured out their auto attendant which they reprogrammed on the fly during your call… probably.
The goal is not to service the customer. The goal is to give the customer no choice but to purchase you product and then build a wall around you they cannot scale.
