There is a whole lot more going on. Fred Trump is the key here on the the personality of Donald Trump. Donald was not born into upper class; he was born into the trade class of Queens… a very, very far cry from even the poorest upper class of Manhattan. NYC classes are incredibly weird … and fascinating. So much packed in such a small geographic footprint, but for purposes of our discussion, Donald was the “poor kid” trying to break into the rich kid circle. ($200–300million Queens bucks is not the same as the same Manhattan bucks) Fred was a “slum lord” like Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life and Donald was the son of a slum lord.

So not only do Trump’s supporters find him a caricature of a rich guy, TRUMP HIMSELF molds himself into this caricature. The suits, ties, decor…. all kinda fits.
