Though I do enjoy those long, drawn out scenes in Family Guy for effect and tension. In a world where all scenes are written tight, deliberately drawn out scenes to plunge the audience into pain, stand out.

Big caveat, though; can’t break the rules unless you know exactly what you are doing or you look like an amateur.

One more rule: make sure your film looks good in small screen as well as a large screen without compromising shooting somewhere in the middle so it works on any screen. Shoot multiple versions if needed.
