I like to dabble in a little bit of everything. I always have. Since the beginning of this program, I had my heart set on advertising. I like writing commercials, and I see potential in my future doing so. You know what I did not expect to like? producing them! I am terrible with computers. But once I start making the commercial, my creative juices start flowing, and I just can’t seem to perfect the art. This makes me want to do it even more. The next thing I know, I’m sitting in the recording booth for 2 hours, trying to find the perfect sound effect for a screeching car.
The Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT has helped me discover new things about myself. New skills and abilities are revealed through projects and assignments. Working with other people have helped me to become more patient, and observant of others as well. This has become useful in group projects. One can anticipate what should be done, before anyone even brings it up. Who would have thought that the Radio program would be as interactive and social as it has been?
A Time for Change
The end of the term is near. Our student life will soon transition into the work field. Unlike business students, we won’t all be competing for the same position, rather, helping each other and working along side one another. We began this journey together, and continue to grow with one another as we conclude our time at BCIT. I am excited to see what we all make of ourselves.
