Gerald Cardinale is the Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of RedBird Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on building high growth companies with flexible, long-term capital in partnership with entrepreneurs and family offices.

Launched in 2014, RedBird Capital has invested and/or led over $2.5 billion in equity investments across 16 portfolio companies in its four key industry verticals — Communications, Sports/Leisure/Hospitality, Energy & Industrial Services, and Financial & Business Services.

Prior to founding RedBird, Gerry Cardinale spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Partner of the firm and a senior leader of the Merchant Bank’s private equity investing business, which managed over $100 billion of private capital across equity, debt, real estate and infrastructure investment strategies. During his tenure, Cardinale worked with entrepreneurs and family business owners to build several successful platform companies, including the Yankees Entertainment & Sports (“YES”) Network, Legends Hospitality and Suddenlink Communications.

Gerry Cardinale is a Trustee of Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and leads one of the multi-state selection committees that awards Rhodes Scholarships each year. Cardinale received an Honors BA from Harvard University and an M.Phil in Politics and Political Theory from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
