Working Together For A More Secure Web

A roundtable on the future of security

Almost everything we do today online, from our communications and entertainment to managing our health and finances, is data-driven. But while the benefits of these services are clear, our growing reliance on them has made it more important, and more difficult, to ensure the safety of all that information.

Gerhard Eschelbeck, Head of Security & Privacy Engineering / Google

Too often issues related to online security are obscured by sensationalist headlines or put in overly technical terms. So today, on Safer Internet Day, Google is partnering with Medium to host a roundtable on The Future of Security. Our moderator, the noted tech journalist Kevin Poulsen, will lead an online conversation with a variety of great security minds, from independent experts to our colleagues from Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, Square and others. We hope through this open dialogue to shine a light on the issues we face today and how we can work together to build an even more secure web in the future.

I hope you’ll join us at me.dm/roundtable to participate and envision an Internet that’s safer and better for us all.

The Future of Security Roundtable is a Google-sponsored initiative that brings together thought leaders to discuss how we can best protect ourselves from the data breaches and security risks of tomorrow. Panelists are not affiliated with Google, and their opinions are their own. Feel free to lend your own voice to the conversation.
