Having followed Microsoft’s mobile developments as a user and journalist over the last 16 years, the Windows Mobile was pathetically under resourced, and clearly had no idea what buyers wanted. They were largely saved by HTC, much like Android was saved by Samsung, as they were closer to the consumer than Microsoft or Google. Microsoft should have gotten the hint for example when HTC started shipping their phones with the Opera browser.
