How We’re Making ELIX Checkout & Onboarding Flows Easy To Use

This week, we’re unveiling progress on the ELIX checkout flow, as well an on-boarding improvements we’ve made to ELIX. Below, we walk through each of the design aspects and mention key development progress we’ve made recently.

Onboarding

First, we’re working on improved introductory page designs for new users. After creating an account, these new designs propose introductory on-boarding illustrations and tutorials that help new users get used to the platform. A great example of a company uses this tactic successfully is Slack, where once new users get to the end of the signup tutorials, they feel at home on the application. We plan to do the same thing.

We’re also planning to add a page where users can select their interests, allowing them to customize their Explore page.

Messages

Messages is an upcoming way for creators and backers to communicate once a product has been purchased or a campaign supported. Check out the photo below to view the proposed designs for Messages.

Initiating a message could be done via a popup from the Activity page:

Confirmation could also be shown in the form of a popup, also shown below.

The Activity page design allows backers and buyers to reach the Messages inbox once an action like buying a product is taken. Check out the design below to learn more.

Shipping

Shipping is another design area that we’re working on. Jane & Rosello have unveiled designs to help buyers and backers automatically determine if a product or reward is available in their country:

Checkout & Development Progress

This week we’ve been hard at work focusing on back-end and feature development. We’re progressing through the process of building out the checkout flow and integration with stripe connect for checkouts. Password change feature has been implemented, which can be found on the second tab of the user profile view. We’re also developing an email connector integration on the back-end to support forgotten password and verification emails during account signup, as well as account alerts and updates later on. Because of the scope of the back-end changes involved, we are choosing longer testing and deployment iterations for these features to ensure they are properly tested and can be released without imposing delays to the overall development timeline.
