What It Means to Be an Entrepreneur

What does it mean to be an entrepreneur? Many people say that owning your own business is a necessary condition for being an entrepreneur, but there is much more to it than that.

Take a look at the entrepreneurs who succeeded in the past. The majority of them found a problem in their lives or in others lives and were determined to fix it. You don’t make a product just to solve your own problems, otherwise you’ll be the only person who wants to buy it. The goal is to serve a purpose that is greater than yourself.

Your goal as an entrepreneur should be to serve other people. It is an amazing job because once you put yourself out there to help others, the odds are in favor of you benefiting from helping those people. Many modern corporations look at customers as guinea pigs to manipulate so they can sell them a certain product. If you look at your customers as people in need of a solution then there will be a mutual respect and a much higher chance that they will buy into your product and your ideas.

A major role of all entrepreneurs is to live in the present. You can’t worry about what would’ve or should’ve been in the past if you had made different decisions, because those decisions made the person you are today. By living in the present and using the word “now,” you will stimulate buyers to impulse buy. Just shows how powerful the present is on yourself and others.

Another part of living in the present is making quick decisions. Your business won’t get off the ground if you are a perfectionist and worrying about every little detail. Trust your intuitions and use them to save time that you will need later on. Some decisions deserve more time and thinking time before you can make a good decision, but remember that there is a big difference between patience and procrastination.

Many people say that you need to have certain genes to be an entrepreneur. That is completely false. Being an entrepreneur is a mindset. Think about that. It’s just a collection of thoughts and aspirations. Don’t limit your potential because anyone can do it. If you’re committed you’ll make it in the end.
