API.ai is acquired by Google, they didn’t disclosed their finance deals.

API.ai platform helps you to create conversational bot with its simple user interface for apps like Skype, FB Messenger, Slack, Trello, etc.

This platform is easy to learn and use for programs to parse human language and convert it to an action, then this action.

This platform have the capabilities to understand the natural language including already built packages, they call this as Domains. By using Domains one can easily add additional coding for the common requests. Some of the Domains are Reminder, Room booking, Flight Timing, Weather, News, etc..

API.ai by joining Google,they allows developers to accelerate enhancements to their platform and they provide developer with access to their best advancements in machine learning and AI. Now with Google’s knowledge, infrastructure and support they can make improvements across their board. This means that the services and products build using API.AI become even smarter.

Google recently launched a Cloud Natural Language API that lets users to take advantage of processing natural language.

Google’s new Messaging App “Allo” Gets Its Edge From AI. With Allo, Google is following the same path of Facebook and others.

Facebook — Messenger and Whatsapp

Google’s Allo is smarter than other messaging apps using this AI techniques.

Allo offers the following

- As you chat with friends, Allo will automatically suggest quick replies by analysing what they are asking and what you’re going to say, so you don’t have to type out a full text on your own.

- Using Allo, you can chat with its search engine to find picture, restaurant, etc

- There are more features to come, but Google’s big idea goes farther than this

Surely, API.ai may give developers an added advantage to build for it.

Wit.ai acquired by Facebook to provide the similar functionality for its own bot-building capabilities. New tools announced by Oracle for building bots across a various chat platform too. This shows that Tech titans are investing more to develop tools for building chatbots.
