Why wait?

We wait for the right time to do stuff.

And I get it. There are some areas where we don’t have a choice. We can’t just run right out and buy a house or a car. We need to save up for a big purchase like that.

But then there’s all the other stuff.

Stop waiting for the right time. Now IS the right time.

I had big plans to paint the kitchen and dining room. In December. Before Christmas. Now it’s April and it still isn’t done.

What have I been waiting for? I honestly have no idea. Sometimes I get stuck in time purgatory. I don’t think I have enough time to get something done. I think I need a huge chunk of time. If I don’t have a huge chunk of time to paint, then I might as well not get started.

Months go by, and I’m still sitting in my dining room with the rooster border that has been here since we moved in…eight years ago. Yeah, the time purgatory on this project has been going on a LONG time.

This isn’t the only thing though. I haven’t started writing my book, because I haven’t been sitting down to work on it. The working title and subject matter are in my head, but I have nothing concrete written down. Again, time purgatory. I tell myself that I don’t have enough time to sit down and work on it today, maybe I will tomorrow.

I have yard projects, Get To It initiatives, notes to send to family and friends, etc. The list goes on and on. I keep wait for the right time or when I have enough time.

Well, it’s time for that notion to make its way out of my head. From this moment forward, I will take whatever time I have to do something that adds value to my life and/or to the lives others. NOW is the right time.
