How to Choose Dog Food, According to Science
Science is not a bunch of some hectic theories, instead, it is a way of living. Having said that, food is the best thing that has happened to all the creatures. On one hand, humans associate food with few of many things i.e. hunger, habit, taste, nutrition, entertainment commodity, vivid exploration, and much more.

On the other hand, we have dogs who associate food with taste, hunger, aroma, and nothing more(pun intended). Therefore, you as a pet master have to keep a thorough check on the scientific factors about the product while buying.
Adding to the fact, there are few factors from which you can select a dog food. Only, by considering all the factors and an optimum resulting product. The factors for choosing the dog food are life stage, breed size, calorific value, and nutritional value.
Starting with the lifestage, the puppies with growing bodies require intense nutritions than the adults. Additionally, the pups require frequent and small meals throughout the day i.e. between two to four per day. Thus, you have to select high protein and fats contented meals for younger ones and mild for the adults.
Similarly, the small breeds require mild nutrients amount in their meal than the large dog breeds. For example, best food for the Beagle breed will have mild nutrients compared to the Weimaraner’s food having higher nutrients proportion.
In addition to that, you have learned to check the calorific value at the back of the pack. Behind every dog food packet, you can find the table showing numeric values about the measurement of energy. Higher the value, more the energy the pooch will get upon digestion. Make sure, you do not feed more calories than required, it will make your Fido fat and lead to many health issues.
Finally, there is another table showing the nutritional values of the ingredients. The list shall consist of these nutrients according to the requirement of the dog. Ingredients shall have required amount of protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and least amount of cheap protein sources(eg: chicken-meal, beef-meal, pea-protein, etc.).
Make sure, you eliminate the products which your pooch is allergic to. Generally, pooches grain-free, low protein, or organic dog food have least chances of allergic reaction in most of the dogs.
