GEX installs case inserts at the base of the head studs in every Type I, II & III engine case. This insures that the head studs will not pull out of the case, a very common weak point in VW engines. We use special made case inserts that have bottoms in them, to prevent oil leaks from occurring around the cylinder head studs. The holes for the case inserts are first drilled, then tapped out 4 at a time using multiple spindle drilling heads on 2 large Clausing drill presses. This insures exact alignment and spacing of each head stud.
