Not exactly sure how fact free punditry to a public which only wants to be reassured that their worldview is the only right one and anyone who says otherwise is lying is “disruptive innovation,” since that’s basically been the business model of AM radio for decades now. Blogging platforms that let anyone start a fake news site are almost 20 years old now, and social media on which things go viral is entering its second decade. Why are we recasting an already well known and established business of telling people what they want to hear and pretending its news in Silicon Valley buzzwords to sell it as something we’ve never seen before?
