On your point about Vader, I couldn’t have said it better myself. The prequel trilogy was notoriously bad about substituting demonstrative storytelling for simply telling viewers how things were supposed to happen, which makes the fall of Anakin Skywalker feel far less organic.

I also agree with what you said about Kylo Ren; Adam Driver’s portrayal of him is brilliant. Often through just a series of pain-stricken facial expressions, Ren’s confusion and anger is evident from the very beginning, rather than just seeming like a bratty child with a sense of entitlement.
