How to write Medium stories people will actually read
Quincy Larson

In addition to Scott’s comments, which are right on as far as I’m concerned, I’d emphasize one other quality of the methods you support…the click-bait nature of your approach is exactly how Fox (and increasingly all the mainstream media) attract viewers….by rewarding their laziness and desire for simplistic approaches to a complicated world. Now I totally get that…but it isn’t improving us . Rather it is encouraging more of the same. Seven minutes might seem like a long time to read something but it isn’t. Increasingly we have to engage much more deeply if we want to truly try to understand complex issues. Medium is terrific for lots of things…but when it tries to be Atlantic Monthly lite, for example, it fails terribly by trying to do our thinking for us.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
