Hi Gratus! Thank you for the well-written article. I see that unfortunately the common understanding of our industry is that architect is “a person telling everyone what to do”. But what if there is another way: Engineers define architecture, make decisions and own architecture of the components they are responsible for. Architects consult engineers to make better decisions by knowing what’s happening around the corner in other teams, what are the common issues across the organisation, and by taking the best learnings from different teams and making them reusable.
