I guess I debate the premise — that there is a “consumer product we all want”. Ask most people who wear (myself included) whether they would prefer to wear glasses at all, and I think the answer would be no. People pay thousands of dollars for LASIK surgery — surgery on their eyes!!! — to avoid glasses (I’m too much of a chicken-shit to do it).
Much like Kyocera’s original Iridium project which I had some involvement with, we should be focusing on where AR Glasses improve people lives or jobs, rather than trying to create the next big mass market category. There is a good business here, it’s just not one where everyone wears glasses.
