The Iron Yard: Week 3 — books

I’ve decided to catalogue the books I’ve been reading on my commute.

It’s been hot the last few weeks so that limits the options I have with entertaining a toddler on the weekend. Enter the library. I loved coming going there as a kid… I remember my sister and I spending hours looking at book on bookshelves that were just our size! Our mom enrolled us in the summer reading programs and we felt so accomplished when we were able to stick a paper animal on the wall. I have no idea what our goals were… just the memory of waiting in line to turn in our list and the satisfaction of sticking the paper animal onto the wall.

All those memories flooded back to me as we took our son to the library for first time. I thought he would be excited to see all the board books we don’t have at home. Nope! He went up to the ‘big’ kids to see what they were reading.

With old habits creeping in, I started picking up books based on their covers ☺ So here’s the list of books I’ve completed so far :

  1. The Lazarus Curse by Tessa Harris
  2. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
  3. The Mysterious Death of Jane Austen by Lindsey Ashford
  4. The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami
One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
