Kathy Rutherford, 56, who attended the rally, earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1983. Since her retirement two years ago, she‘s dedicated her time to mentoring high schoolers in robotics. When asked to describe what it was like entering such a male-dominated field in the ‘80s, she replied, “Lonely.”
