(1) The story of the 2 🌴 coconut trees.

There used to be 2 coconut trees in our neighbour’s yard that leaned right onto our rooftop. Every year we would lose five to six roof tiles when the coconuts used to fall on them.

We had been asking the neighbours to take care of it ever since we built this house. But other than for an acknowledgement, nobody took a step to address the issue. So as usual the roof tiles were broken this year too.

My husband decided not to replace the tiles till they took care of the coconut trees this time. He even found a tree cutter after searching high and low for one. Didn’t know they were hot commodity. But the neighbors ended up sending the guy away for some reason.

That was really upsetting. But we prayed that this issue would be resolved without breaking the good neighbourly ties. And we left it at that. But I was also seriously hoping lightning would strike those trees. See, a lot of work left for God to polish me.

But unknown to us, one of our 24 hour surveillance crew who are ever present in front of our place, had been observing and keeping tabs on the issue. He went about getting another tree cutter and approaching our neighbours. In short the two trees were chopped down in a matter of couple of hours. Only then did they realise how precariously one of those trees was standing. It was so diseased that it wouldn’t have made it through the monsoons. They said it would have come crashing down on our place.

The gist of the matter is that Jesus is so faithful. When we seek His kingdom, everything else will be added to us. He uses others to work on our behalf without us having to run around in circles. I am so overwhelmingly grateful and amazed at His faithfulness. They are new every morning.
