Want innovation? Reskill your people.

The real constraint in today’s adoption of technology is not tech itself, it is the lack of people who can implement it. Not the senior leaders, who tend to attract most of the spotlight. Rather, we keep on missing the plot on the “rest of the world” side of innovation. Adoption of new thinking is hard because inventions require a broad base of workers to turn into real implemented-at-scale innovation, and I argue that our organizations and institutions, both private and public, aren’t fit for this purpose. This is what this post is about.
