Apple ID settings update does not work on macOS Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey and even the latest Ventura. When you can’t update Apple ID settings on your Mac, you may not be able to use some Apple services associated with Apple ID normally. So, you are here to troubleshoot Apple ID settings update not working.

Restart your iPhone

Press and hold the side button and the home button at the same time to reboot your iPhone.
On your iPhone 7/7 Plus, you need to hold down the side button and the volume down button to restart it.
On iPhone 8/8 Plus and iPhone X and 11 Series devices: press and release the volume up button, press and release the volume down button
button. Then hold down the side button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

After your device restarts, your Apple ID password may appear again. Just insert it one last time and you’re done.

Change Apple ID password
You can also consider this method to solve these problems. It is possible to stop updating the Apple ID settings stuck on the update screen once the Apple ID password is changed and then start it again once the password is changed. So, try changing your Apple ID password and see if that helps.

  • Go to settings.
  • Click on your profile.
  • Choose Password and security from the menu.
  • Then click Change Password.
  • Then you will need to enter your iPhone passcode.
  • You can now change your password by filling in the new one and clicking the Change button.
  • Once you’ve selected your preferences, choose to Sign out on other devices or Stay signed out.

Sign out and back in with Apple ID (may work)
Some users fix Apple ID settings update issue by signing out of their Apple ID account. You can then sign in again to access your account information.

Step 1. Open the Settings menu and find your Apple ID at the top of the page.

Step 2. Scroll down and then tap on the Sign Out command. You can keep a copy of the data on your iPhone to prevent data loss during this step.

Step 3. Then use your information to log in to everything once again. You should also sign in to iCloud, with the recommendation to merge your data.

Step 4. If this step did not resolve the issue with Apple ID settings update stuck with warning notification, repeat the process. Turn your iPhone off and back on before signing in to your account.

Change network connection
It is also possible to have such a problem if your internet connection is unstable. You must have a stable internet connection to update your Apple ID settings. The connection can become weak and generate this type of error if you have a weak internet connection.

You can use mobile data instead of your network connection to achieve this. If the Internet is down, you can simply turn your router’s WiFi and your device’s WiFi on and off.

It might also be a good idea to try another app on the same network to see how it works. You may have a problem with your connection if other apps are also having problems. If it works fine for other apps, force close the Settings app and check if it has been updated.

Fix Apple ID Verification Error
If you continue to get a verification error after verifying that your Apple ID and password are consistent across services, you may need to take additional steps to stop the warning notification.

Step 1. Your VPN can sometimes cause problems if your updated Apple ID settings get stuck like this. Temporarily disabling it might resolve the issue.
Step 2. You may need to remove any content or ad blockers you have installed on your iOS device. Some users find that a force restart of the iPhone can prevent the notification issue from reappearing.
Step 3. The verification error could be because the date and time are not correct. Go to the Settings menu, choose this option, and then set it to update automatically.
Step 4. If none of these efforts work for you, go to the Apple ID website to reset your account password. Once you have verified the new passcode, try updating your iPhone with the information.
