Can Children Play Musical Instruments in Nairobi ,Kenya?

The answer is yes, they can! This is what Benson Baraza, a graduate (BMus) at Kenyatta University, Musician and a Music teacher will tell you! He is also alumni of Gatoto School, Nairobi Kenya and currently training Children In Mukuru,Gatoto School on how to play guitar and recorders.

‘I believe in music because music makes us human, it makes us recognize inner beauty and the beauty of nature. Music provides a shoulder to cry on and something to cling to. And the greatest of all, Music brings out LOVE to people we serve!!’ Says Benson.

He chose to teach children Music and how to play Musical Instruments in Mukuru because he believes in giving back to the community especially to Gatoto School where he went to school and began to develop his career.

‘ I acknowledge the the presence of Nameta Trust since it aims at impacting the society, especially the current generation in Slums and other marginalised areas. With Nameta Trust’s Vision and Mission , and my experience in Music, I see a more vibrant society where Music is developed at tender age to address constraints of 21st Century’ says Benson.

Nameta Trust has always been focusing on providing more opportunities to kids and youths through Arts. Music as a tool can be used to create that much needed social change in the World.
