You make some very good points, but you’re missing the bigger picture.

Look, I don’t disagree. I think as part of a nuanced discussion, the fact that ibuprofen has been demonstrated to have a less than ideal risk profile when it comes to cardiovascular health is a very strong argument in favor of providing it in lower doses, or only behind the counter in pharmacies. But that certainly wasn’t what I saw when this study came out; the media reporting was more along the lines of “ibuprofen causes heart attack, so BE AFRAID”. I’m writing more against that point than I am against the idea that perhaps there should be more regulation of ibuprofen in general, in particular over where exactly it should be sold.
