We need to have real conversations and put a step plan that can be easily followed by organizations about how to create and sustain an inclusive and diverse environment. Part of the issue is that it is just an uncomfortable topic for many, but the other issue is that they just don’t know how or where to start. For so many organizations, big and small, no matter how innovative they appear to be, if they don’t have a model of some sort to follow, they can’t do it themselves. Additionally, if you have a diverse workforce, but not diverse decision makers, then your organization won’t truly be inclusive, it will only appear as such to the naked eye.
