Story outline# 2

Date: Nov 22nd,, 2016

Patient: André Prophète

Hospital: Clinique Jeannot Cadet

Doctor operating: Dr Claudy Cadet

Eye Surgery performed: Cataract

Time of the day: 1:00 pm

Quote from patient: “You should always go see an eye doctor before it your eyes get worse”.

Andre has some accident in the past that hit his head, which caused his eyes to be in a bad condition. He went to hospital several times with no success, but what he knew is that he had cataract in his eyes. A patient from the Clinique Jeannot Cadet took him to the clinic, where he could have the surgery in his left eye.

Andre explained that “Things were bad for me because of my cataract. At church, I could not read my Bible, I could not walk in my house, and that was a big problem for me and my family. I could not go to work “

Andre continues: “Since I have the surgery in my left eye, I can see now. Even when I don’t see in the right eye but now I can see and read my Bible. Many people who knew me are surprised when they see me walking by myself” I pray that God can help and give more health to the doctors so they can continue doing this job in the people’s eyes.

Andre thinks that many other people in his area are affected by the cataract issue, he said “ In the area where I live, many people have very bad eye problems and they are not educated to know what to do and how to take care of their eyes. Those people are discouraged and lose their hope of seeing better, because they have gone to many small clinics in the area but cannot find a good solution. Some of them cannot come to the clinic in port au Prince because they don’t have money. It would be good for the doctors to help those people and I have some family members who need that”
