REFLECTION: 2/28/22

The cross is more than the universal symbol of Christianity. This simple design carries the message of love, purpose, promises kept to people all over the world. The cross has nothing to do with religion. It is the expression of an eternal love and the payment for all the past, present and future sins of humanity, including yours.

The Bible says in Proverbs 12:22, «The Lord hates lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.» You can claim to be an honest Christian, but you clearly cannot love the «truth» if you are living a lie. To be a follower of Christ, one must truly represent him, standing up for what is right, even if it means standing alone.

Lying lips are not only common in today’s world, because there were many lies in biblical times as well. Joseph’s brothers convinced their father that Joseph was dead. Can you imagine the guilt they suffered with for years, unable to cleanse themselves and tell the truth? Meanwhile, they presented themselves as pure and holy. Although their father was deceived, God was not deceived. You cannot hide from God; He sees everything.

Remember that God knows the truth. He looks into our hearts and sees our past, present, fears, hopes, dreams, he even knows your thoughts. Romans 3:23 makes it clear: «For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.» There are no perfect people, everyone is a sinner, including you. God sometimes allows tests to come to purify us in preparation for heaven. Pray for a closer relationship with God by living a pure, holy and honest life that pleases him. And the next time you’re tempted to exaggerate your accomplishments or misrepresent the truth, choose to be honest!

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE:

My God, today I come to give myself to you, to ask your forgiveness for all my faults, for all my sins, I know that you are a «forgiving God» I beg you for mercy and compassion, I know that my sins are great, today I come to you in repentance.

May the peace of the Lord be with you day and night until the end of your days. “
