INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY #4 Museum Visit 1
Museum can take you to different places at the same time.. Objects that tell you stories or better yet..
experience the art yourself.
This is my second time going to the National museum. Usually, I prefer visiting the museum in the morning so that the place wouldn’t be pack with people. I think that everytime I visit the place, It always took me 3 hours to roam around the area, because i always take time to look at each art carefuly and appreciate it to be able to grasp the message behind it. There are work of art that have caught my eye, these are:
Being able to witness one’s child die is one of the most horrific thing and least likely what an every parent would not want to encounter in their lives. This is very heartbreaking to see that a child who only been able to live his life for a short amount of time, to think that someone or something had taken this child’s chance to live.
As I was looking at this picture, I was imagining the reaction and feeling of the child’s parent as they watch him sleep in the tomb. This just goes to show that every parent’s love for their child is unconditional.
The first thing that comes to my my mind is how sad this picture and how hard she must be going through. I thought about what may be the reason why the woman feel so distress; Is it about her family? Her child? crisis? work? money?. I have no idea. However, I would say that women would always worry about something even when someone say not to worry about it at all because it is in the nature of women to be a caretaker and loving. Women tend to always put you first no matter how hard this must be for her.
There are questions in life to which we have answers but there are other questions that we don’t have answers. Everyone of us has no idea what our future would be. However, at our wishful thinking we expect that it’ll be a good one. WE expect that our leader would lead our nation, and bring us a prosperous life ahead of us.
No matter how hard they try to convince us that we are in their safe hands, and that our nation is making progress. We will worry. We have no idea what kind of nation we would live in at the end of the tunnel. It is scary to think that we are all hoping to a prosperous nation but what is happening is the opposite.
This is one of the most devastating event that have happened in the Philippine history. More than thousand of Filipinos and American soldiers have been captured by Japanese and forced to march hundred of miles. Some already died along the march because of exhaustion or manhandling by Japanese. Up until now, veteran’s are seeking for justice for the brutal captivity.
This picture is so sad yet heroic. Millions of soldiers had to ensure the brutality or/and sacrifice their lived for our country. I felt proud that their are people like the soldiers who are willing to leave everything behind including their families to be able to protect our country.
Philippines is a beautiful country; our country is blessed with the best natural spots or destinations that one could laid eyes on. Maria Cristina falls is a must that traveller should visit in Mindanao because it’s natural beauty.
This painting was painted at 1956. I was kind of surprise to think that this natural wonder have been already admired by people during those time and up until now. That’s why preservation of the environment is an important thing so that future human life would able to witness the same thing that we saw and experienced.
This two work of art comes from the concourses of Manila International Airport. What I thought about it is the color of this burlap: Black for the departure and White for the arrival. Those colors have its meanings, commonly people associated the color black to sadness, pessimist and other negative things however, this color can be also associated with elegance and and power. I realize that this color exactly what people including foreigners feel as they depart. This is where they have to say goodbye to their love ones and/or new found friends behind.
Contrary, the color white denotes for innocence, purity, safety and usually it has a positive connotation. Filipinos and visitors continuously go in and out of our country. The other work of art titled “arrival” was in color white.
The impression I got with this is a positive feeling because it is where people get impatient, this is where people will be reunited with their love ones after a long time, this is where they run to each other, this is where they hug and kiss, or this is the start of a new chapter of someone else. Basically, this is the end of being apart and missing someone or the beginning of starting a new chapter of life.
Absolute freedom does not exist nor will exist. However, in our life we expect to be free from some sort of control from other people nor from ourselves. We expect to be free from fear and harm. I think that it is imporant for person to take control of their own lives, to encourage self-growth.
