Driven by e-commerce, the delivery profile has experienced a shift from the traditional B2B approach to B2C and peer-to-peer, ultimately leading away from a closed, traditional supply chain dynamic and is paving the way for alternative and new approaches of transportation of goods.

This trend plus a fundamental shift in the way we shop and consumer expectations, presents new challenges for retailers and suppliers. Global e-commerce has experienced a transfer of power towards the end consumer, seeking best price-value options, convenience and real-time personalized service.

While the offering and presentation of goods and services online, has evolved to leave little room for desire, parcel delivery and shipment are an often-overlooked part of online shopping experience.

More than 150 million packages a day are shipped around the world. And with the continuous rise of online retailing, parcel delivery volume growth is estimated at a rate of 17 to 28% between 2017 and 2021 worldwide.

E-commerce giant Amazon has been a pioneer in recognizing and catering to the adjusted needs of its customers by providing a convenient, consumer centered delivery service.
It has since managed to increase their market share enormously while smaller E-commerce businesses struggle to accommodate to the increasingly convenient-hungry mass.

Even though collectively making up more than 40% of the global e-commerce market, small to medium sized businesses often find themselves in a compromising situation when it comes to the delivery of their goods. A constraint of capital, technologic and human resources thus renders many businesses dependable upon on the traditional solutions by third party providers such as DHL or post.

The demand for a reliable, consumer-need centered and fully transparent third party delivery solution is more urgent than ever before.
